Forthcoming changes in documents related to the introduction of Euro

Dear Clients,

We would like to inform you that in connection with the introduction of the euro as the official currency in the Republic of Bulgaria and in compliance with the regulatory requirements as per the Act on the introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria and Ordinance No. 3 of the BNB on the terms and procedure for opening payment accounts, executing payment operations, and using payment instruments, effective from January 1, 2026, Tokuda Bank EAD is updating the following documents:

Tariff of fees and commissions for individuals, Tariff of fees and commissions for legal entities, Framework agreement for the provision of payment services to individuals, General terms and conditions for the provision of payment services, General terms and conditions for Internet Banking, and General terms and conditions for the issuance and use of bank cards for individuals and provision of payment services via bank cards.

            All fees in the documents are visualized in both currencies euro and lev, while your terms remain unchanged:

  • No increase in fees
  • No need for new contracts
  • No additional actions required on your side.

The changes are as follows:

I. In the Tariff of fees and commissions for individuals and Tariff of fees and commissions for legal entities: Fees due in lev under the Tariff of fees and commissions for individuals will be charged and collected in euro, in compliance with the legal requirements for dual visualization. Changes have been made to certain cut-off times for the execution of euro transfers. The following services have been terminated: transfers in levs via BISERA6 and RINGS, direct debit.

II. In the General terms and conditions for the provision of payment services: The national currency is changed from lev to euro. The following services have been terminated: transfers in levs via BISERA6 and RINGS, direct debit.

III. In the General Terms and Conditions of Tokuda Bank ЕAD for the issuance and use of bank cards for individuals and the provision of payment services via bank cards: Changes have been made in Section VI. Liabilities of the Parties, Unauthorized Transactions, Art. 1.16, in connection with the change of the national currency from lev to euro.

IV. In the General terms and conditions for internet banking of Tokuda Bank EAD: Changes include: in entire document is removed the Cloud Qualified Electronic Signature (CQES) as a means of electronic identification, the national currency is changed from lev to euro; the direct debit service is terminated; changes have been made to certain cut-off times for euro transfers.

V. In the Framework agreement for the provision of payment services for individuals: The national currency is changed from lev to euro; the direct debit service is terminated.

In case you do not accept the above mentioned changes, you have the right to terminate your Payment Service Agreement with the Bank at any time by submitting a written request at a Bank office, without being liable for any costs or compensation.
